Forgiveness

Better health supplements,

Much laughter, forgiveness and few friends,

But like in airplanes,

Put your oxygen mask first before helping others,

Growth is always violent,

Foggy brains and sore muscles,

Traded for a better self,

Life a second back is like that,

You're fully responsible,

Do your best always but,

It will never be someone else's best,

Accept it and forgive yourself.

Materialism 2

Thinking of small places
Ones who don’t find spaces on maps,
Living for small pieces
Of my perception of life.

Is it a small living?
Small distances and indulgences,
Small vision of our time and place,
My philosophical pondering.

I know some people fom small places,
With astute sense of purpose,
Small goals and small roles,
Small life with a purpose.

I scoffed at the ignorance,
Of people from small places,
Searching for deeper designs,
Hunting for greater intellect.

A tale of a bygone time,
In 32nd year of life,
I zoom in on maps,
Find the names and images,
Of small places and their stories,
Seeking inspiration in their subsisting,
Seeking easy answers and small reasons,
For existing.

Materialism 1

Another day in the drudge,
Another moment of pondering,
About these materialistic urges,
The ephemeral sense of owning,
Everything inconsequential.

I am like a phoenix egg,
My possessions are resin,
They make me feel beautiful,
Like woodturning,
This egg will never hatch.

But folly is also a remedy,
For life with no goal,
Nothing out of the ordinary,
In synthetic dreams and faux obstacles,
The classic materialism spiral.

This moment of epiphany,
Churns myriad historical aches,
A glimpse through the entanglement,
The profound walls of superficial waste,
Protects the man of lacking heart.

Weather

Love is like a gale,
I'm a weather vane,
My love is weather-beaten,
Weathered yet never under the weather,
Akin to ageing of wine,
A bottled poetry, a work of art.

Sleep

Since you've come,
Sleep has a new meaning,
Sleep is welcome,
A pleasant sojourn,
An overnight jaunt,
Meadows cover nightmares,
Dew paint the thoroughfare,
You lead the way,
To the better days,
A better me I've become,
Since you've come.

The Screen

So many screens,
Glowing bright,
Like stars at night,
They own me.

Pictures of old flame ,
Mobile phone game,
I have no books or dictionaries,
Only screens.

Waking working,
Evening morning,
No interest in the alive,
Screens blind my eyes.

Speak less type more,
My world a diverse porn,
Consumed as I gaze on,
Till the day I become a screen.

Screw you man

Spiderman Batman Ironman,
A recipe to be a superhero,
You gotta know what you're good at,
And add a suffix 'man'.

This got me thinking then,
What's that one thing,
I do best than the rest,
That sets me apart as a man.

Interviewing family and friends,
Introspection and meditation,
In hope to be a superhero,
I churned multiple opinions.

A source of great affliction,
Was this exercise,
To screw people's happiness,
Is my superpower it seems.

It can be a gentle humiliation,
Or asking how it feels to be blind,
It can also be an insensitive joke,
On friend's friend's last promotion.

Inquiry about periods was unintentional,
But women can't drive comment wasn't,
Size of shoes indicates size of penis,
Playing dwarf porn to the short guy was fun.

Trust me I wish to hurt no one,
But you can look at all these superheroes,
Their power isn't their design,
It's power choosing one of them.

So after much deliberation,
I settled for a fitting appellation,
Truer than either spider, bat or iron,
I will be known as Screw-You Man.
